Present Simple Tense

PRESENT SIMPLE TENSE :–



We use the Present Simple Tense to talk about things happening all the time or repeatedly.

Examples :–
(1) He takes breakfast regularly.
(2) The earth revolves around the sun.
(3) I do not work.
(4) He does not come.
(5) An interpreter translates from one language into another.
(6) A liar is someone who does not tells the truth.
(7) Vegetarians do not eat meat.

*Structure :–
I/We/You/They............................go.
He/She/Radha.........................goes.

We use do/does to make introgative/ intro negative sentences.
Examples :–
(1) Do..........I/we/you/they........go?
(2) Does......he/she/it..................go?
(3) Do.....I/we/you/they.......not go?
(4) Does....he/she/it..............not go?

Some more examples :–
(1) I come from India. Where do you come from?
(2) Would you like to smoke? No, thanks. I don't smoke.
(3) What do you do? I work in a hotel.
(4) How often do you visit to your doctor?

English Grammar : Present Continuous Tense

         When the work is still going on, it's not finished yet, it is called Present Continuous Tense. Example : He is on his way to Patna. Ravi is doing his duty.

I.............................am........writing.

He/She/It..............is..........going.

We/You/They........are........learning.

          When you say that you are working. It means you are in the middle of doing it but you have not finished it yet.

More examples :-

(1) I am going to Kolkata. I will meet you tomorrow.

(2) Suresh wants to work in England, so he is learning English.

(3) He is listening songs today.

(4) Is he practicing his cricket match?

(5) How is your English? It's getting better now.
